Better Earpads The A500 comes standard with the HP-A900 Earpads. This earpad is sponge covered by a very thin layer of epi leather. This thin layer is fairly poor quality and can tear after 1~2 years, even when not in use! Yup, just degrade by itself! Most users switched to better quality pads like HP-A1000 which has a thicker and smooth epi leather skin. We re-fitted some A500 with HP-A1000 pads, and only charge for the cost difference between the pads. Now, you have an A500 that will last much longer!   Metal inner and outer earcup housing.
