Are our Prices the Cheapest?

We believe in offering Fair Prices that can sustain a Responsible Business. We believe our prices are not the highest, and probably not the lowest. If you shop around long enough, you may find someone selling cheaper.

But, how much time do you want to spend? How much is an hour of your time? If you believe our prices are fair and within your expectation, is it not wise to stop shopping here?

Also, is the seller with the cheapest price a responsible business you can trust with your payment? Will they pack and send your parcel with the correct documentation?

Why do our Prices go Up and Down?

  • Price adjustments
  • Your currency's exchange rate to Japanese Yen

Like most stores, prices are sometimes adjusted up when a product becomes limited in supply, or adjusted down as cost prices fall.

But, the main reason is currencies exchange rate to Yen.

Bluetin.com Japan procures products from Japanese businesses in Yen. When there is a change in your currency's exchange rate to Yen, we will update our prices. This can be good or bad for you, depending if your currency became stronger or weaker against Yen. There is no fix time when the update is made. We monitor the currencies market closely, and will update when necessary.

The exchange rate we use is slightly in our favor, ie. lower, than a Japanese bank's buying rate. This is in case your currency weaken further during the sales process, before we have a chance to exchange it into Yen.

The better (higher) rate you see on your local paper or TV may be either selling rate, or an average of buy and sell rate. Those do not apply in our case, as only our Japanese bank's buying rate matters. Buying rate is how much a bank will offer in order to buy 1 unit of your currency. Confused?
